It was the same injury that she suffered in 2007, which ended her season after just two games. Rapinoe recuperated from her injury, and was able to help the Pilots to record a winning mark of 20-2 in 2008.

The first six or five years of her existence resided in Boring the town of Oregon where she lived with her family. Her mother was allergic to bees. The couple divorced and relocated to Montana, then Seattle where her mother changed jobs regularly. They did not run the bee farm for long. Maria and her family relocated to Minnesota.
